Local lab test uncovers body’s weaknesses before taking COVID vaccine

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – At Any Lab Test Now, a local walk-in testing clinic, staff is encouraging local families to take their micro nutritional test to determine potentially low levels of vitamins and nutrients.

They say that the test is especially important for those hoping to get the COVID-19 vaccine, as low levels of Vitamin D are shown to make the vaccine less effective.

“One of the main tests we do here at Any Lab Test Now is the micro-nutritional test that tests for 36 different nutrients, vitamins and antioxidants within your body and it doesn’t just test for the levels like most testing does – this one actually tests for the way that your body is adapting to them, the way that it absorbs them,” says medical assistant Katherine Warren.

Lab workers say that by strengthening the immune system, we can better fight off COVID-19 and give the vaccine a stronger chance at limiting severe symptoms.

“For the COVID vaccine, you need to be not deficient in Vitamin D if you want to be able to absorb it properly within your system. And so that’s what this test does. It pretty much lets you know how much is in your system, if you need more, if you need less,” Warren explains.

Low levels of vitamin D is a problem with a significant amount of Americans.

Warren says this is all the more reason to take their test and make sure that you aren’t one of them.

“A third of Americans are all Vitamin D deficient in general so even taking just a supplement they still can be deficient and it’s also about what you eat that does have the Vitamin D in it so that you gain it naturally as well as taking a supplement and the more that you’re able to have in your body, the better the vaccine is going to be able to adapt with you and make it a better longevity for the vaccine,” she says.
