Club Notes for Dec. 1

Gallant Homemakers and Community Leaders

We were blessed with 17 members and three visitors at the Gallant Homemakers and Community Leaders meeting held at 1 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Gallant Community Center.

Mary Ellen Smith led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag and the AHCL Creed, along with the Homemakers Pledge.

The devotion was given by Sharon Lampkin from I Chronicles 16: 34-35: “Thank God in all circumstances.”

President Kathy Sapp gave a report on the Alabama Homemakers and Community Leaders meeting at Guntersville State Park. She advised that three attended the meeting and 18 ribbons were won by the Gallant ladies.

On Dec. 4, the club will meet at the Salvation Army building to prepare 50 Christmas stockings for children. Lunch will be served after the meeting. Bring books, booties and items for the Pregnancy Center.

A Community Christmas Tree was discussed by the club. On Dec. 7, the club will meet at the Fire Hall and work on a Christmas tree. At 5 p.m., the community is invited to join in the lighting of the tree with songs and refreshments. If you have an ornament or some outdoor lights you would like to donate for the tree, or one with your name on the back, please see one of the club members at 5 p.m. on Dec. 7.

There being no further business to come before the club, the meeting was adjourned. Next meeting is Dec. 4.
