You can take down your Christmas tree whenever you want: My 2 Cents

Doesn't matter what the date says on the calendar. WFMY News 2's Taheshah Moise shares why you should do what makes you happy.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — It's time for "My 2 Cents."

So Christmas 2020 has come and gone. I know that you know that. But it seems my living room didn't get the memo.

Over the last two weeks, I've gotten messages on social media asking me why my tree is still up.

It's simple. Because it makes me happy.

2020 was a tough year and on the Four 2 Five, we talk a lot about doing things that make you happy during the pandemic.

So for me seeing my tree all lit up puts a smile on my face.

To be honest though, this isn't the first year, my tree has stayed up long past Christmas. One year it was up through May! And yes I got some flack from my fellow anchors all in good fun.

Because I broadcast from home now, you get an up-close and personal look into my life which leads to many questions and suggestions. Like maybe I should redecorate my tree to match upcoming holidays if I plan to keep it up long.

Love that idea to those who've suggested it, but that may be just a little more work than I'm willing to put in.

To those who still have their Christmas trees up, don't let anyone deter you.

And to those who have something negative to say about it just keep it moving.

Form your own opinion that's just My 2 Cents.
