A teen was arrested for plotting to have a friend murder his family, according to police in Florida.
Port St. Lucie Police allege the 14-year-old’s plans emerged over the weekend after his father found a note in his room that read like a “murder-for-hire contract” agreeing to pay $1,200 for the killing of three relatives.
Investigators say the boy planned a “burglary gone bad scenario” where his friend would shoot his family in their home while he remained in his room.
However, the boy’s friend told police he thought it was a joke when he signed the document.
The teen was arrested and taken to a juvenile detention facility accused of solicitation to commit first-degree murder.
