Book A Hotel

Portland Airport (PDX) is located in the Pacific Northwest. We review the best airport lounge if you fly in First or Business Class or have a Priority Pass or relevant credit card.

The main terminal is split into the North and South with five concourses labeled A to E. Beyond the airport lounges, there’s a spa and movie theaters.

Free Airport Lounge Access

If you have not paid for Business Class or First Class, you can access airport lounges for free if you have an unlimited Priority Pass or an Amex Platinum card. To get bonus referral points and advice on the Platinum American Express and other free lounge access credit cards, have a read of our best credit cards for luxury travel.

1. Alaska Airlines Lounge

This lounge can be found in Concourse C close to Gate 5 and is accessible airside from all gates. Alaska Airline’s premium passengers, Priority Pass members, and American Express Platinum cardholders can access this lounge. You can also buy a day pass to the lounge.

It is worth noting that this lounge often has capacity restraints for Priority Pass members due to overcrowding. So, you will not always be able to get into this airport lounge for free using your Priority Pass.

The lounge is small with brown seating, a small buffet area with cafe seats, a TV area, and a business center with a printer and copier. The lounge has views over the tarmac, a Coca-Cola soda fountain, and a Starbucks coffee machine. The food is limited and cold, with a fridge offering cheese and humus, limited and slightly unappealing veggies, a leafy salad, a pancake-making machine (in the morning), and sweet and savory cookies. Beer and wine are available and served by attendants. There are very average bathrooms within the lounge, too.

If you get free access to this lounge, it is worth using and is pleasant enough, if small and unexciting, but it is definitely not worth paying for this lounge (IMHO) at the door. Portland Airport is really nice, with loads of appealing restaurants and stylish cafes. Everywhere has free Wi-Fi, and there are plenty of more exciting places to relax and eat before your flight.

2. United Club

The United Club is open to premium passengers flying on United. You can also pay to access this lounge, but as outlined above, I think your money is better spent at the dining venues in the terminal than paying to access this lounge. It is nothing special but does offer a beer, wine, and a cold buffet.

3. Delta Sky Club

You get access to the Delta Sky Club if you’re a Sky Club member or flying in First or Business. This lounge is the largest at PDX, but it can be crowded. There are salads and snacks and wine and beer available.
