CVS to offer COVID-19 testing for children 12 and older in Rhode Island

CVS announced plans to provide COVID-19 testing to children 12 and older at select drive-thru locations, including 14 locations in Rhode Island.

The Woonsocket-based company announced the plans on Thursday, with the intention of having results available within two to three days.

CVS said in a statement that the move to offer tests for children 12 and older is partly due to the reopening of schools across the country and the need for extra testing.

The self-swab tests will be provided at no cost, but a parent or legal guardian of the child must register in advance at CVS.com.

Rhode Island’s 14 testing sites include four new locations in Cumberland, Pascoag, Pawtucket, and Wyoming.
