TikTok reacts to rich couple’s pros and cons of traveling via private jet: ‘Thanks for reminding us how poor we are’

A wealthy couple on TikTok went viral after sharing a video detailing what it’s like to fly private.

The pair run a travel page on TikTok called “The Luxe Travel Couple,” and this private jet vlog is one of many luxury trips they have documented. In this video, the couple takes a private jet to Marrakech, Morocco, from the U.K. The female partner is the main narrator.

What is inflation and what causes it?

In the video, the woman walks viewers through the private jet experience. As private fliers, the couple was able to arrive at the airport 15 to 30 minutes before their flight’s departure. Rather than waiting for their plane at an airport gate, the couple enjoyed the wait in a private lounge with complimentary beverages and snacks. The woman also claims that typical travel concerns about luggage weight, liquids and technology are nonexistent on private flights.

When the time came for the couple to depart, they were escorted directly to their plane by car.

“Usually, the private lounges are very close to the aircraft. However, if you don’t fancy the walk, you can always get the car,” the woman said.

The plane’s pilots and air hostess personally greeted the couple upon arriving at the aircraft. While boarding the small plane, the woman captures an exclusive look inside for her TikTok viewers.

“This is one of the smaller jets. As you can see, it sits six people, but for a three-hour flight, it was worth it,” she said.

During the flight, the couple relished more complimentary beverages and food. The two even celebrated a friend’s birthday on the plane, with the flight attendant providing the birthday girl free cupcakes and candles.

Unfortunately, the perks of flying private may not be enough for those who like to get work done as they travel.

“Some jets don’t have Wi-Fi, not even as an added cost. Luckily, we still managed to get some work done,” the woman explained.

Another con to flying private includes the seating setup, as it may not be ideal for people prone to motion sickness.

“For those that get easily carsick, the seating arrangement could be an issue, especially if you’re facing the rear of the aircraft,” the woman said.

Once the couple and their friends arrived in Marrakech, they had to go through immigration and security as usual — but they still got to enjoy a private lounge and escorts to their hotels in Bentley vehicles.

“Overall, it took about 15 minutes from the time that we landed to be on our merry way, making it a very quick and smooth process,” the woman said.

TikTokers are stunned by the luxury and wealth displayed throughout the couple’s video. For one thing, the woman beginning the video with the caption “What it’s like to travel private instead of First [class]” struck a nerve with some.

“Can’t afford either of these, but thanks for the visual that I will never see in person… Good for hoping and wishing,” a TikToker commented.

“Thanks for reminding us how poor we are,” another wrote.

“‘Complementary,’ you mean included in the cost?” someone else said.

Other TikTokers in the comment section appreciated the vlog but still would rather fly on commercial airlines, mainly due to the environmental damage caused by private jets.

“As a constant traveler and quite rich I think this is a WASTE OF MONEY. And not even mentioning the environmental impact,” a TikTok user commented.

“I’d love to experience private but definitely think I prefer the thrill of a fast-paced airport sometimes,” another said.

Many other TikTokers commented on the Luxe Travel Couple’s video, asking for the cost breakdown of their trip. The couple cleverly responded with this video using the “30,000” TikTok sound.
