Frontier Productions offers summer rodeo fun

Jun. 9—In total of 30 riders will come to Dickinson and test their strength and balance against some of North Dakota's high caliber bulls at Saturday's Frontier Productions event, Bull Blowout. This weekend family event will begin at 6 p.m., with a second day of rides the following day at 2 p.m.

This rodeo event will take place at the Stark County Fairgrounds. Tickets are $12, and free for 5 and under. It will have a full concession and beer garden and the entertainment is in the name.

"Stark County has one of the nicest facilities in North Dakota for rodeo and I don't like to see it sit empty," Nathan Hofer the event coordinator said. "It obviously gives a chance for our bulls to shine and we got riders coming from New Mexico, South Dakota, Montana and Minnesota so we got a lineup of really good riders and we are going to see some pretty good bull rides be made."

The bulls will be coming from three separate entities; Star E Ranch, Bailey Pro Rodeo and H&H Buck and Bulls based out of Dickinson. The point standings will go towards a local bull riding association.

Saturday will also feature saddle bronc riding as well as 10 junior riders.

"These up and coming kids don't really have too many places where they can go and get on it and learn how to ride bulls," Hofer said. "We are going to buck 10 junior bulls to give kids the opportunity to develop."

Saturday night after the rodeo, there will be a social and dance at Bernie's Esquire with live music by Reaction Jacket. Attendees will be able to meet some of the bull riders.

Sponsors for the events are Dakota Community Bank And Trust, H&H Fencing, Leanin Pole Arena, Fisher Industries, Charbonneau Car Center, Consolidated Telecom and Perry Roofing.
