12:10 p.m.: Detour to Test Iowa site in Cedar Rapids
People traveling to the Test Iowa site in Cedar Rapids using Interstate 380 southbound should note that another route will be necessary for the next eight weeks.
The southbound Interstate 380 to eastbound U.S. 30/Southwest Kirkwood Boulevard ramp will be closed for bridge repair, starting at 7 a.m. Monday.
Traffic will be detoured onto westbound U.S. Highway 30 to the Sixth Street exit, then back east on U.S. 30.
The Test Iowa site is at Kirkwood Continuing Education Training Center, 101 50th Ave. SW.
11:05 a.m.: Eight additional Iowa deaths due to coronavirus
The state of Iowa reported 351 additional positive cases of COVID-19, as of 11 a.m. Saturday. That brings the state's total to 19,142, according to the coronavirus.iowa.gov website.
Eight more Iowans died due to the virus, according to the site, for a total of 528 since March 8.
One more long-term care facility outbreak was recorded, at Mill Pond Health Care in Polk County - that county's 11th and 39 outbreaks statewide in total.
9:40 a.m.: Maple Syrup Festival canceled
Indian Creek Nature Center has canceled this year's Maple Syrup Festival, which had been postponed until June 27 and 28.
'Ticket holders have the option to transfer their ticket to next year, donate all or part of their ticket costs back to the Nature Center, transfer to a gift card to put toward a future purchase, or receive a refund,” the not-for-profit said in a statement Friday.
The festival is the organization's largest fundraiser of the year.
