Satellite Beach police warn residents to lock doors after a few break-ins

Satellite Beach police are telling residents to be on the alert after a series of weekend burglaries and car break-ins.

Police report unidentified burglars can be seen on residential video roaming through darkened neighborhoods, trying car door handles.

The beachside agency took to social media to warn residents about the break-ins.

In at least one case, the burglars found a garage door opener in an unlocked car and used it to get inside the home.

The incidents took place between 2 to 4 a.m.

Two cars also were stolen and later found abandoned in Melbourne and Orlando, police reported.

Residents should lock all vehicle doors, while making sure to remove all valuables and close the garage.
