Two teams heading in different directions meet on Monday Night Football, as the Seattle Seahawks, who are without their star quarterback, will look to knock off the New Orleans Saints in the Pacific Northwest.
Since losing franchise quarterback Russell Wilson in their week five loss to the Los Angeles Rams, the Seahawks offense has taken a noticeable hit. They now sit at the bottom of the NFC West with a 2-4 record, with the earliest that the team may see Wilson back in the lineup possibly being week 10. For now, they are going to rely on Geno Smith, who was not bad in the team’s overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers last Sunday night (despite being strip-sacked by TJ Watt in OT), throwing for over 200 yards and a touchdown pass to Will Dissly.

The Saints are feeling fine coming out of their bye week. While they are nothing extraordinary sitting at 3-2, but they are second in the NFC South, and have won two of their last three games. Quarterback Jameis Winston has certainly matured at the position in taking over for the now-retired Drew Brees. In New Orleans’ 33-22 win over the Washington Football Team in week five, the former Heisman winner threw for 279 yards and four touchdowns, the second time he has hit that mark this season.
Monday night will mark only the 17th all-time meeting between the two teams, with each beating the other eight times, with the Saints winning with Brees at the helm in the last two encounters during the 2016 and 2019 seasons.
