Mostly cloudy and seasonable this morning with lows in the 50s and a few showers. Spotty light showers on tap today.

Clouds have built in across the area and as a result temperatures are not quite as cool as they were yesterday morning. Morning lows will fall into the upper 40s and low 50s. Mostly cloudy skies dominate the forecast today with a 30% chance for a few spotty showers. We are already beginning to see a few light showers/sprinkles on radar this morning. 

Most of today’s rain will be light in nature, with slightly drier conditions this afternoon. Rainfall totals are not impressive with about up to 1/4″ for most spots. By this evening, we are drier but still cloudy. Overnight lows will be mild near 60 degrees. 

The weekend is dry and warm with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. Mainly cloudy skies continue Saturday with some breezy winds at times, especially over the Smokies and Plateau. Sunday is even warmer than Saturday with a high of 83 degrees and mostly sunny skies. 

Monday is warm as well with highs in the mid 80s and increasing clouds late. There is a 30% chance for a few spotty showers and thunderstorms late Monday night into Tuesday of next week. The overall severe threat remains low at this point for our area, but we will continue to monitor this. 

Next week there will be multiple opportunities for showers and a few storms. There is the potential for a few strong to severe storms late Wednesday into Thursday as well. Stay up-to-date!
