Montville parents accused of breaking baby’s bones

MONTVILLE - A Montville couple was charged Tuesday with fracturing several of their 3-month-old child’s bones and failing to seek medical treatment for the baby’s injuries, according to police.

Joshua Morales, 26, and Dianna Loomis, 20, were each charged with cruelty to persons and risk of injury to a minor. Morales was additionally charged with first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree assault.

Montville police and the state Department of Children and Families began investigating the couple after learning a medical exam of the child showed healing fractures of two sets of ribs and a leg bone, according to a police press release. There was no indication in the release on when the alleged abuse occurred.

Morales was initially held on a $50,000 bond and Loomis on a $30,000 bond. The pair was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Norwich Superior Court.
