Bishop Moore lost its first four games against tough non-district competition but the Hornets are in solid position to make another state playoff appearance after beating Pine Ridge 47-12 in a 5A, District 7 game.

That game in College Park was one of many across Central Florida on Friday that had to delay starting times due to stormy weather.

The victory made the Hornets 2-4 overall and 1-0 in district play. Bishop Moore plays its second district game against Seabreeze (3-4, 1-0) next Friday at Daytona Stadium. The winner of that game will be all alone atop the district standings.

Pine Ridge dropped to 2-3 overall and 0-2 in the district.

Two games were postponed due to the weather conditions. Orange City University (4-0), No. 8 in the Sentinel Super 16 rankings, had to postpone a home game against Flagler Palm Coast (2-3).

Gateway (1-4) at St. Cloud (1-4) was also scrapped.

Most of the Week 7 games involving Orange and Seminole counties’ teams were played Thursday night.

Lake Minneola (4-2), ranked No. 12 in the Sentinel Super 16, made the long haul to Miami and scored a 40-14 win against Carol City (2-4). The Hawks are home against South Lake next Friday.

DeLand won 29-15 at Deltona (4-3) to level its record at 2-2. The Bulldogs are 21-2 all-time vs. the Wolves and have won nine straight in the “Battle for the Bone” rivalry series.

DeLand makes a quick turnaround to play Oviedo (5-1) on Monday night at home. The Bulldogs will then play their third game in eight days at home against Flagler Palm Coast (2-3) next Friday.

Harmony (4-2) won 44-14 at Kissimmee Liberty (2-3).

Celebration (4-2) won 33-15 at Tohopekaliga (2-5).

Umatilla (3-3) posted a 42-24 home win against Anclote (1-5).

Private-school winners

Greg Jones passed for two touchdowns and ran for another as Foundation Academy improved to 5-1 with a 31-0 road win against North Florida Educational Institute (3-3) of Jacksonville. Ian Garcia had 111 receiving yards and two TD catches in the win. Defensive linemen Bryan Thomas and Reggie Jean had seven tackles and two sacks apiece.

Foundation plays at state-ranked Jacksonville University Christian (4-2) next week.

The Master’s Academy finished strong to deal Faith Christian (4-1) its first loss, 33-15.

Zach Weaver ran for a touchdown that gave the Eagles a 19-15 lead with 8:25 to go in the game. Luke Boivin boosted that lead to 33-15 with his own TD run. Boivin also scored on a blocked punt.

Master’s, which is 3-3, led 12-0 after a Jackson Vallery touchdown catch in the third quarter but Faith scored the next 15 points to go ahead.

Orlando Christian Prep (4-1), which came in at No. 7 in Class 2A power rankings, scored a 15-6 road win against Wildwood (3-2).

The First Academy (4-2) won 42-7 at home against Trinity Prep (0-5). Terrence Mosley II ran for two touchdowns and scored another on a reception for the Royals.

Orangewood Christian (3-3) ventured out of state and won 64-24 at Asheville Christian (3-4) of North Carolina.

Mount Dora Christian (4-1) won 55-7 at Melbourne Central Catholic (1-4).

Legacy Charter improved to 4-2 with a 41-0 home win against Cocoa Beach (1-5). Jaden Oyola and Jayden Colon each scored twice for Legacy. Oyola had two receiving touchdowns. Colon had two rushing TDs.

Central Florida Christian Academy (4-1) won 49-0 against visiting Cedar Creek (0-6) of Jacksonville.

First Academy-Leesburg (2-4) pulled out a 28-20 win at Bronson (3-3).

Mount Dora Christian (4-1) won 55-0 at Melbourne Central Catholic (1-4).

Monday night football

Three makeup games between area teams will be played Monday, including the Oviedo at DeLand contest.

West Orange (5-1), No. 6 in the Super 16, plays at No. 11 Ocoee (4-0) in a game moved from Week 5.

Hagerty (2-3) hosts No. 15 Timber Creek (4-2)
