Mr. Homer B. Kuper, age 101 years, of Bonnots Mill, Mo., died Monday, December 21, 2015, at his home. Homer was born October 26, 1914 in Bonnots Mill, Mo., the son of James B. and Mary Louise Jaccord Kuper. He was married November 19, 1938 at Jefferson City, Mo., to Clotilde M. Pope, who preceded him in death August 8, 1997. Homer was a 1932 graduate of Linn High School. At a younger age, Homer was employed at Frenchie's Restaurant on the Southside and and later at the Skelly Service Station. He moved to Kansas City in 1952 and was employed as the District Service Manager with the Hoover Company with responsibilities over five states. He retired in 1979 after 35 years of service. Homer returned to Bonnots Mill in 1997 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jefferson City. He enjoyed duck hunting, playing golf, and woodworking. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family. Survivors include: six nieces and nephews, Dr. Gary Kuper Scott and his wife Sheila of Jefferson City, Mo., Dr. E. David Scott and his wife Virginia of Bonnots Mills, Mo., Rita Scott Penserum and her husband Van of Bonnots Mill, Mo., Bryan Pope and his wife Sharon of Jefferson City, Mo., Bob Pope and his wife Connie of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Barbara Pope Conaghan of Prairie Villiage, Kan.; 19 great-nieces and nephews, Amy Brix, Joe Pope, Jennifer Pope, John Pope, Carrie Smith, Robert Pope, Matt Pope, Tina Watson, Lisa Dawdy, Corey Scott, Dawn Borland, Stephanie Scott, Laura Pierce, Sarah Roberson, Deborah Campbell, Angie Harmon, Lori Oxborought, Kevin Conaghan and Beth Shaeffer; 41 great-great-nieces and nephews, Jack Brix, Sam Brix, Leo Brix, Max Pope, Eva Pope, Sylvia Unverzagt, Mathias Unverzagt, Alex Smith, Joe Pope, Tom Pope, Megan Pope, Sally Pope, Jim Pope, Todd Konersmann, Scott Konersmann, Sarah Konersman, Abby Harmon, Maddy Harmon, Livi Oxborough, Katelyn Oxborough, Finley Oxborough, Madeleine Watson, Daniel Watson, Matthew Dawdy, Joshua Dawdy, Abigail Dawdy, Elisabeth Hegner, Calab Borland, Lexie Borland, Logan Borland, Joshua Hartzler, Rachelle Hartzler, Jessica Hartzler, James Hartzler, Harrison Scott, Ben Scott, Jacob Scott, Katie Marie Hill, Sarah Marie Campbell, Ryan Smith, and Justin Campbell; five great-great- great-nieces and nephews, Chloe Campbell, Shantelle Harley, Willow Hartzler, Adelee Hegner and John Wesley Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one sister, Lillian Kuper Scott; one niece, Patricia Pope Konersmann; one nephew, Jim Pope; and two great-great-nephews, John McCutchen and infant James Ralph Asberry. Visitation will be at the First United Methodist Church from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 26, 2015. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 26, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Jeannie Martin Dudenhoeffer and Chaplain Bart Larsen officiating. Interment will be at St. Peter Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Cadet Creek Cemetery Fund.
