The EPA spent $4.3 million in funds from President Biden’s $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package on environmental justice and climate change programs for activities like tree planting, “pruning workshops,” and achieving “greater acceptance of trees” in cities. Another $5 million or so went to a Massachusetts program for “tree walks” and “increasing awareness surrounding inequitable tree cover in our communities.” Welcome to the Democrat’s version of paradise in the USA.

I looked at my retirement account today. Since President Biden’s inauguration (January 2021), my account has plunged 30% in numerical value. In purchasing value, it has plunged even more because of inflation. Probably another 20%. So in less than 2 years, Biden has cut my account by 50%, because he is for the little guy. Yeah right.
The January 6 hearings continue but no one is watching. We heard this all before. If they had any bombshells they would have opened with a bombshell. Instead, they parade people in front of cameras saying there is evidence of wrongdoing, but they never seem to get to it. Same as the Russia hoax.

Does anyone have extra gas cans? I would like to borrow them for a month or so. I am told Biden is going to give me a gas tax holiday. I understand that the holiday will last about 2 weeks. I want to save those 18 cents a gallon by stocking up. 2 weeks is so short, so I want to stockpile that gas. If I can get 20 of the 5-gallon cans, I can save $18. Biden is so generous with his help for us poor folk.

I had to send in a paper tax return this year. The article in The Mercury on Thursday is correct about the pile of paper returns. The IRS owes me a refund. So far the IRS has not even acknowledged receipt of my return. Curiously though, my quarterly estimated tax checks that are sent in, get processed almost immediately. What was really happening on January 6, 2020: Gas was $1.93 a gallon. There was zero inflation. The supply chain was functioning well. The economy was the strongest in 50 years. BY, your understanding of oil imports/exports is seriously flawed. The US has always both exported and imported oil. The issue has always been which is bigger. Under Trump we became a net exporter; with Biden, we returned to being a net importer. Being a net importer makes us dependent on others. We didn’t just start exporting again; we never stopped.

I live in a diverse neighborhood with whites, blacks, rich, poor, young, and old. I was talking with one of my younger neighbors this weekend and told him that when I was his age gas was $2.00 a gallon. My neighbor is 1 year younger than me.
