CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a winter weather advisory in effect from 4 p.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. Thursday for parts of Northeast Ohio.

The advisory is in effect for counties including Cuyahoga, Lake, Lorain, Summit, Medina, Geauga, Portage, Trumbull, Ashtabula, Erie, Huron and Sandusky.

Expect mixed precipitation with total snow accumulations of about 2 to 5 inches, and ice accumulations of about one-tenth of an inch, NWS said.

Snow will start late Wednesday afternoon and early evening, then a wintry mix with freezing rain will move in later Wednesday evening and overnight, according to NWS. A change to all rain is possible south of Interstate 76 and east of Interstate 71, NWS said.

Ice will accumulate most in southern areas, from Mansfield to Akron, while the most snowfall will be in areas closer to Lake Erie.

Slippery road conditions could impact the morning and evening commutes, NWS said.
