BAHRAIN Pumas won the under-7 title in the GAC Bahrain Junior Rugby Festival at Bahrain Rugby Football Club in Saar.
Abu Dhabi Harlequins were the runners-up, Riyadh Vipers Plate winners and Bahrain Wildcats Plate runners-up.
Over 500 junior rugby players, aged between four to 16, from Bahrain, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Muscat, Riyadh and Kuwait that took part in the two-day event.
In the under-8 section, Bahrain Tigers were the champions, Kuwait Saracens the runners-up, Doha Plate winners and Bahrain Lions Plate runners-up.
The Bahrain under-6s were split into three teams and competed in the first competitive matches of their young rugby careers.
The exhibition style matches were fiercely contested and it was amazing to see so many enthusiastic four-five year olds and their parents enjoying being part of their first home rugby competition.
In the under-9 competition, Abu Dhabi 1 were the champions, Dubai Hurricanes 1 runners-up, Doha Plate winners, Abu Dhabi Harlequins 2 Plate runners-up, Bahrain 1 Bowl winners and Hurricanes 2 Bowl runners-up while Bahrain 2 finished seventh.
In the under-10 section, the highly fancied Bahrain team did not disappoint going through the tournament unbeaten.
But they were pushed hard by a well drilled Doha team and the newcomers to the 2016 competition, the Blue Falcons, a new club in Doha with a distinctly French influence.
Champions
Bahrain were the champions in this section, Blue Falcons runners-up, Doha Plate winners and Kuwait Plate runners-up while Bahrain 2 finished fifth.
In the under-11 competition, Bahrain again dominating proceedings with two big wins over Riyadh Vipers.
Doha proved a much tougher opposition, however Bahrain did go on to again remain unbeaten in all four matches to emerge champions.
Doha were runners-up while Riyadh Vipers finished third.

In the under-13 section, Bahrain again went through the round robin matches unbeaten and had to wait until the last round of matches to find out their title showdown opponents - Dubai Hurricanes or fierce local rivals Doha.
Doha proved too strong for the Dubai team, but Bahrain raised their game to yet another level in the final to seal the title.
Doha were the runners-up, Hurricanes 1 Plate winners, Muscat Plate runners-up, Hurricanes 2 Bowl winners and Bahrain 2 Bowl runners-up.
Bahrain also won the under-14 title while Doha were the runners-up.
Doha won the under-16 title while Bahrain were the runners-up and Muscat finished third.
