Hoosiers Set 2022 Recruiting Pace With Verbals from In-Stater Alejandro Kincaid, Iowa’s Drew Reiter

NEW COMMITS: Indiana University has officially begun their Class of 2026 recruiting after receiving verbal commitments from Alejandro Kincaid of Chesterton, Ind. and Drew Reiter of West Des Moines, Iowa.

Both talented swimmers will arrive in Bloomington in the fall of 2022.

ALEJANDRO KINCAID

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I am extremely excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and swimming career at Indiana University. I am thrilled to be a part of a wonderful team with amazing coaches and staff. I am so grateful for my wonderful family, friends, and coaches who have helped me along the way. Go Hoosiers!?⚪️”

A talented backstroker and sprint butterflyer, Kincaid trains year-round with Duneland Swim Club. He earned 100% best times at Indiana LCM Seniors last summer where his highest finish was a 15th-place showing in the 200m back. He then went on to compete at Junior Nationals.

His best times include:

  • 50 back – 22.54
  • 100 back – 48.89
  • 200 back – 1:52.64
  • 100 fly – 51.01

Also competing for Chesterton High School, Kincaid is already a three-time Indiana State Championship finalist. He placed sixth in the 100 back and 15th in the 100 fly as a sophomore while taking 16th in the former event during his rookie campaign. He also led off their fourth-place 4×50 medley relay in 22.54 this past year.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“Excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at Indiana University! I am thankful for everyone who has helped me get to where I am today. Looking forward to getting to work at IU! Go Hoosiers!⚪️?”

Reiter does his club swimming with Central Iowa Aquatics and is primarily a breaststroker with an excellent fly/IM to add to his resume. He most recently won both the 200 fly and 400 IM at Iowa Seniors after notching four lifetime bests at Juniors West. Last summer, he was the 200m IM runner-up at Des Moines Futures where he also took fourth in the 200m fly and 400m IM.

His best times include:

  • 100 breast – 58.84
  • 200 breast – 2:05.48
  • 100 fly – 48.93
  • 200 fly – 1:49.53
  • 200 IM – 1:48.29
  • 400 IM – 3:57.50

A current junior at Waukee Senior High School, Reiter is already a four-time Iowa State Championship finalist. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American won the 100 fly and earned silver in the 200 IM during his sophomore season while taking third in both of those events as a freshman.
