Six players have qualified for the second round of the Sixth Interior Minister Open Tennis Championship being held under the patronage of the Interior Minister and organised by Public Security Sports Association in cooperation with Public Security Officers Club.
The second round starts tonight. In yesterday’s matches, third seed Moroccan Ayoub Sharouni defeated Ali Diwani 6-3, 6-1; Hamad lost to Filipino Bahul 6-0, 6-3; Dutch Rick di Groot edged past Bahraini Mohammed Abdula’al 6-1, 6-1; Filipino Katito beat Pakistani Salman Hassan 6-3, 6-2. Bahrainis Abdulkarim Abdulnabi, Hassan Abdul Ridha, Youssef Qaed and Abdulrahman Shehab qualified for the second round on the first day.
