MUMBAI: Bahrain consul general Mohammed Abdulaziz Al Khaja, who was booked in molestation case, flew back home on Friday.
It now transpires that Khaja had assaulted an employee at the consulate some months ago. "The staffer concerned had approached the Cuffe Parade station with his complaint after Khaja beat him up and smashed his cellphone," said a senior officer.
"DCP Ravindra Shisve recorded his statements.
But the staffer did not press charges as he feared losing his job," he added. Additional commissioner (south) Krishna Prakash confirmed that the diplomat had been flown back. "Two FIRs have been registered against him," said additional Commissioner of Police (South) Krishna Prakash. The Bahrain Consul General has reportedly flown back to his country after two FIRs that had been registered against him with the Malabar Hill on December 9. In the first FIR that was registered on December 9, the diplomat Mohammed Abdulaziz Al Khaja was booked for misbehaving. In the second FIR he was booked for abusing and threatening the same victim, Manager of the housing society where he stayed at Napean Sea Road in South Mumbai.
However the third complaint against the diplomat Mohammed Abdulaziz Al Khaja was not registered with the Cuffe Parade after he assaulted and broke the mobile of his consulate staff.
The application was submitted with the but the victim feared of losing his job and withdrew from lodging complaint despite his statement was recorded by the Zonal DCP Ravindra Shisve. "We have come to know that the diplomat has left Mumbai. Two FIRs has been registered against him and the third one was not registered," said Additional Commissioner of Police (South) Krishna Prakash.
Khaja stayed on the fourth floor of the society building. The Manager, a woman, had early this month lodged a complaint accusing Khaja of molesting her. The Bahraini diplomat came to the society office on Thursday and was talking to its Chairman when he reportedly pointed a finger at the Manager, abused and threatened to kill her.

A Malabar Hill official said that the diplomat has left Mumbai on Friday morning.
Khaja was booked earlier this month for allegedly molesting a woman manager of his housing society, Silver Arch. The diplomat stayed on the fourth floor of a 24-storey building. In her complaint, the victim stated that Khaja allegedly created a ruckus after a building elevator was shut for repairs. The diplomat vandalized her office and pushed her. "This was the third incident of such misbehaviour by Khaja," the complainant said. "The building is 40 years old and a new lift was being installed. The victim kept telling him that technicians were on the job, but he wouldn't listen," said an officer familiar with the case. "He started banging on the doors of the lift. He barged into the manager's office and turned the place upside down. He shouted at her and when she asked him to stop what he was doing. In the ensuing scuffle, the assault allegedly occurred," the officer added. Police said prior to the incident, earlier Khaja had been living in an apartment complex in a flat leased to the Bahrain Consulate by the state government of Maharashtra.
Meanwhile, the Bahrain consulate in India however tweeted that: "Khaja was transferred to the ministry of foreign affairs in Bahrain as his term was over."
