A trio of costumed creeps — Spider-Man, Captain America and, naturally, the Grinch — was busted by real NYPD heroes on Thursday for hassling people in Midtown, police sources told The Post.
The threesome “all stood together, which created a wall, [and] would not move, aggressively blocking pedestrians trying to walk by,” near West 49th Street and Sixth Avenue around 2 p.m., one source said.
The human wall slowed down some trying to get to the afternoon showing of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, according to the source.
The furballs were taken into custody by cops for disorderly conduct as part of a holiday blitz on the ubiquitous costumed menaces, the insider said.
They were named as Enrique Diego, 28, Walter Aragon, 33, and Ruben Vega, 47, though cops couldn’t immediately say which man was under which mask.
Though most associated with Times Square, the plushy panhandlers have migrated a few blocks east since the lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, running their usual ploy of pulling wide-eyed tourists in for photos then demanding “tips.”
The city has said that rules restricting the pests to designated areas within Times Square don’t extend beyond the Crossroads of the World, effectively giving them free rein of the rest of the city so long as they aren’t doing anything illegal.
But the source said that cops would continue keeping a close eye on the congregation.
“We will be cracking down at Rockefeller Center,” the source said.
