Michigan surpasses 70,000 coronavirus cases with 584 new cases reported, 6 deaths

Michigan's health department has reported 584 new coronavirus cases Tuesday, bringing Michigan's total to 70,306.

An additional six COVID-19 deaths have also been confirmed Tuesday. This brings the state's death toll to 6,081 since the first death was reported by the state in March.

Data from the state health department also includes 53,867 recovered patients as of Friday. The state defines this as cases that are 30 days out from their onset of illness. 

The health department also reported there are now 7,558 probable cases and 245 probable deaths, for a total of 77,864 cases and 6,326 deaths.
