The first BAFTA TV awards have been announced on BBC Breakfast.
Journalist Joan Bakewell receives the BAFTA TV Fellowship in honour of her illustrious career spanning over 50 years.
StudioCanal chief exec Nicola Shindler received the BAFTA Television Special Award to recognise her outstanding contribution to the television industry including her work on shows like Clocking Off, Happy Valley, and the forthcoming series Trust Me.
Script supervisor Emma Thomas picks up the BAFTA Television Craft Special Award for her work across shows like Birds of a Feather, Benidorm, Bad Education and Luther.
The BAFTA TV awards ceremony presented by Graham Norton will air on May 12, when TV fans will find out if Ant and Dec will add to their bulging trophy cabinet, if Bodyguard will beat out Killing Eve for best drama series, and which soap will scoop the prestigious title.
Nicola and Emma appeared on BBC Breakfast together on Tuesday morning to reveal how thrilled they were to be recognised for their work in TV.
Emma, who revealed her first job was writing fanmail for The Muppets, said: "I just pinched myself. I read the email and didn't believe it. Then I came back to it and thought 'it's really me', it's fantastic."
Nicola said she was incredibly honoured at receiving the accolade adding of her own production company she set up 20 years ago: "It hasn’t been easy but I am proud of the shows we make at RED and how hard we work.
"I have an amazing team, and have worked with a number of the most incredible people, who have made coming into work each day a joy. And I’m not done! I continue to be excited by new ideas everyday, and I can’t wait to see what the next 20 years brings."
Joan, who didn't appear on the BBC show, said of her achievement in a statement: "I’m thrilled to see so many women nominated this year and delighted to share this great BAFTA occasion with them.
"I have been a broadcaster for many decades now and seen major changes along the way, not least the advancement of women both on the screen and in many roles behind it.”
In other categories Ant and Dec are nominated for best entertainment performance for Saturday Night Takeaway and will compete against David Mitchell and Lee Mack, who are both nominated for Would I Lie To You?, as well as Rachel Parris, who is nominated for The Mash Report.
Saturday Night Takeaway is also nominated for best entertainment programme, alongside Britain's Got Talent, Michael McIntyre's Big Show and Strictly Come Dancing .
Killing Eve , meanwhile, leads the way with a whopping 14 nominations.
The moment Eve stabs Villanelle in the BBC thriller made the shortlist of Best TV moments.
They also include BBC's Bodyguard for Julia's assassination, Gail’s Monologue on the suicide of Aidan Connor in ITV's Coronation Street , Rosa Parks episode of BBC's Doctor Who , The Finale of BBC's Peter Kay ’s Car Share, and when Tom completes his transformation in Netflix's Queer Eye.
