NH reports 12 deaths, 729 new COVID cases

CONCORD – New Hampshire health officials reported 12 more deaths and 729 new positive test results for COVID-19 Wednesday.

The state now has 6,236 active cases of the coronavirus and a pandemic total of 59,437. The new numbers include some test results from past days.

The state's death toll increased to 950 (1.6% of all cases) with 718 associated with long-term care facilities (76% of all deaths). The people who died include three Strafford County residents (two women, one man) and one Rockingham County woman. All but one of the new deaths were identified as people age 60 or older. The one person younger than 60 who died was in Hillsborough County.

There were 254 individuals in the state hospitalized with COVID-19 as of Wednesday's report for a pandemic total of 976 (1.64% of all cases).

The new cases include 109 people under age 18. The rest are adults with 50% female and 50% male. They reside in Rockingham (194), Hillsborough County other than Manchester and Nashua (118), Strafford (79), Merrimack (41), Grafton (31), Belknap (29), Sullivan (21), Coos (20), Cheshire (18), and Carroll (10) counties, and in the cities of Manchester (76) and Nashua (55). The county of residence was being determined for 37 new cases.

Seacoast communities with the most active cases as of Wednesday's report were Dover (207), Rochester (186), Portsmouth (109), Hampton (80), Exeter (59), Somersworth (55), Stratham (43), Seabrook (36), Durham (31) and Rye (30).
