Bahrain to continue regulate trade, industry: Crown Prince

ManamaCrown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa has said that the Kingdom will continue to strengthen regulatory procedures in key industry and trade sectors  to boost investment opportunities.

HRH Crown Prince made the comments during a visit to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, and a number of its offices, including the Bahrain and Saudi Investors Centres at Bahrain Financial Harbour yesterday.

During the visit, the Crown Prince highlighted that the Kingdom will continue to deliver a comprehensive national development plan which places the role of the citizen at the heart of Bahrain’s future progress. 

Prince Salman said, “The outcomes of the recent Government Summit, which sought to ensure the private sector continues to be a key driver of national development and a creator of equal opportunities for all Bahrainis.”

The Crown Prince highlighted the integral role that Ministry of Industry and Commerce-led programmes and initiatives play in creating an environment that stimulates growth across key sectors, including tourism, logistics, manufacturing, ICT, and financial services.

The Deputy Premiere said, “The principles of sustainability, fairness and competitiveness enshrined within Bahrain’s Vision 2030 will continue to influence all development activities in the Kingdom, ensuring prosperity for all citizens.”

Prince Salman added that significant improvements in the quality of government services reflect the concerted efforts made by all government departments to contribute to the Kingdom’s ongoing economic development. In this regard, His Royal Highness praised the achievements of the Ministry, working alongside stakeholders, in establishing the Saudi Investors Centre – an initiative born out of discussions between Prince Salman and Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef Al Saud, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, expressed his gratitude to the Crown Prince for visiting the Ministry, “His Royal Highness’ continued support for the Ministry’s work has been instrumental to helping create improved investor registration procedures.“

Al Zayani added that the Crown Prince’s recent directives will further strengthen Bahrain’s economic development, underlining the Kingdom’s reputation as an investment gateway to the region. 

The Crown Prince was accompanied during the visit by the minister, and a number of senior government officials.
