Will Muschamp’s new sideline “look” is catching on with South Carolina fans.
The school will give away “Professor” Muschamp-style glasses to students who attend Saturday’s home game against No. 9 Florida. Students are also instructed to “BE LOUD” in order to receive “extra credit.”
The 48-year-old Muschamp began wearing reading glasses during games this season after realizing his vision had diminished. The glasses often slide down onto the end of the excitable Muschamp’s nose, giving him a “professorial” look.
“You know what? I’m getting old and I can’t read, especially at night,” Muschamp told reporters last week. “Had to put my ego on the shelf on these. But my wife is going to buy me a different pair she said.”
South Carolina pulled off arguably the biggest win of Muschamp’s tenure last week, beating Georgia 20-17 in double-overtime in Athens. The Gamecocks face their second straight Top 10 team in the Gators, who visit Williams-Brice Stadium for an 11 a.m. kickoff with the Gamecocks.
