PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - Kentucky State Police (KSP) have identified the body of a person involved in an ongoing death investigation in the Phelps area of Pike County.

KSP responded to a call September 21 reporting a possible dead body, later identified as Hazard Miller, 74, of Fedscreek, by an abandoned surface mining access road.

After further investigation, Trooper Michael Coleman told WYMT, “At this point in the investigation we are able to confirm that foul play was involved in the death of Hazard Miller.” However, Trooper Coleman said this is still a death investigation at this time, rather than a murder investigation.

The cause of death remains undetermined.
