Retired Holyoke Police Officer Eddie Wrobleski celebrated his 101st birthday on Tuesday.

Current Holyoke police officers were invited to Wrobleski’s birthday party at the Holyoke Soldiers Home.

“The men and women of the Holyoke Police Department are tremendously fond of Officer Wrobleski and his life’s accomplishments,” Holyoke Police Lt. Jim Albert said. “To be able to stand with Eddie one more time in the thin blue line was a thrill for those of us who were present.

Wrobleski enlisted in the Army in 1942 and served as a crew chief on the B24 and B29 bombers.

Wrobleski later joined the Holyoke Police Department, where he served as an officer until his retirement in 1971.

Happy Birthday Officer Wrobleski!
