Here's where kids aged 12 to 15 can get the COVID vaccine in New Jersey

Providers across New Jersey began administering Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine to children aged 12 to 15 on Thursday morning, less than 24 hours after the federal Centers for Disease Control approved it for that age group under emergency use. 

Although Gov. Phil Murphy said this week that doses may be dsitributed to schools and pediatricians to administer, no formal plans have been release

Most providers that have the Pfizer vaccine will likely be offering it to the new age group. Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines have only been approved for those 18 years and older so far. 

Because the initial demand may be strong, many providers are still asking that parents or guardians make appointments. But some sites allow walk-ins.

An adult must accompany anyone under 18 years of age.

170 pharmacies have Pfizer shots available in New Jersey. Appointments can be made at cvs.com, but walk-ins are accepted.

FEMA site at New Jersey Institute of Technology

Registration is highly encouraged, but not required, at covidvaccine.nj.gov. Walk-ins are welcome from now until May 30, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m in Newark.

Hackensack Meridian

Various locations are offering the Pfizer vaccine.
