Coach Painter and select players to face the media in advance of season

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Big Ten Media Day returns to the Midwest on Thursday, as four Purdue representatives head to Chicago for the annual event.

Head coach Matt Painter and student-athletes Carsen Edwards, Ryan Cline and Grady Eifert will represent Purdue at the event, beginning at 9 a.m. ET, in Chicago. Media from FOX, CBS, ESPN, BTN and SiriusXM Radio, as well as local and national print media, will descend on the event to talk to some of the nation's top players and coaches.

The Big Ten Network and BTN Plus will air Coach Painter's press conference at 11 a.m. ET, and Painter, Edwards and Eifert will be guests on the BTN studio set at 1:40 p.m. ET. The network will produce over five hours of live programming during Thursday's festivities.

Fans can join the conversation using the hashtag #B1GMediaDay and Boilermaker fans are encouraged to follow the official Purdue accounts on Twitter and Instagram (@BoilerBall). Stay tuned to Twitter for chances to ask the players questions about the day and upcoming season, using the hashtag #AskBoilerBall.

The first chance to see the Boilermakers in action is at Purdue's annual fan day Saturday, Oct. 13, in Mackey Arena. Fans can receive autographs and get pictures with their favorite Boilermakers beginning at 2:15 a.m. ET, and then are invited to stay and watch Purdue's first intrasquad scrimmage of the season. The football game with Illinois will be played on the video board during Purdue's scrimmage.

Fan Day also will be the first opportunity to receive the 2018-19 schedule posters and to meet your favorite Boilermakers face-to-face. Fans will have the opportunity to purchase season tickets, as well as single-game tickets to the men's game vs. Robert Morris on Nov. 23 for just $10, and to the women's game vs. South Carolina on Dec. 16 for just $5.

Children that attend Fan Day will have the opportunity to draw players' headshots for a chance to have their illustration featured on the video board at Kids Club games this season.

This will be the lone opportunity to see the men's team before its exhibition game Nov. 1 against Marian University beginning at 7 p.m. ET at Mackey Arena.

The Boilermakers went 30-7 a year ago and reached their second straight Sweet 16.
