CONCORD, NH — While no one should be drinking and driving, do not say you have not been warned: This weekend, New Hampshire State Police will be patrolling Interstates and other roadways looking for drunken drivers and other scofflaws in and around Concord and the capital region.

Troop D troopers will be on patrol Sept. 26 and Sept. 27 to take "an aggressive stance to prevent persons from driving when impaired," according to Lt. Chad Lavoie of Troop D in Concord.

The state is using funds and grants from the NH Office of Highway Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to offset the costs.

"New Hampshire has some of the most aggressive laws in the country to fight impaired driving," Lavoie said, "and the law enforcement community will use those tools to their fullest extent."
