The driver of the tractor-trailer, Thomas A. Maramba, 47, of Jacksonville, was not injured.

The accident, which occurred east of the Sangamon Avenue/Interstate 55 interchange, is under investigation.

Allmon also said David Sirtout, 37, of Springfield was killed in a crash at South Fifth Street and South Grand Avenue Saturday.

Sirtout was transported by EMS from the scene to Memorial Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 9:59 p.m. by emergency room staff.

That crash is also under investigation.
