Johnson County COVID-19 vaccine tracker: 49% of people fully vaccinated

Johnson County has administered more than 158,778 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, as of May 11, according to data from the Iowa Department of Public Health.

That's up 7% from the previous week's tally of 148,424 COVID-19 doses administered.

In Johnson County, 49% of people living in Johnson County are fully vaccinated as of May 11. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention considers someone fully vaccinated two weeks after they've been given a single-dose shot (Johnson & Johnson) or a second shot (either Pfizer or Moderna).

Iowa reported 368,192 total cases of coronavirus, an increase of 0.56% from the week before.

Johnson County has the highest percentage of their population fully vaccinated in Iowa as of May 11.

The others in the top five are Dubuque County (45%), Carroll County (43%), Dickinson County (42%) and Shelby County (42%).
