As part of its May 2020 batch of styles, Converse Japan has gone global with a Chuck Taylor “All Nations.” A possible nod to the Chuck’s global impact and lofty-yet-accessible status as one of the world’s most well-known shoes, the “All Nations” salutes countries from Japan to Mexico.

An off-white canvas upper is covered in flags from heel to toe. Ten total nations are present on this print — Ireland, the U.S.A., Argentina, the United Kingdom, Italy, Greece, Germany and Brazil plus the previously mentioned duo of Japan and Mexico — and each flag receives equal billing.

Converse‘s signature printed star logo is present in its standard place on the medial collar, with rubber toe caps and silver eyelets adding more signature style. Eggshell midsoles feature black foxing around the top half and a red stripe down the middle. Red All-Star badges appear on the heel under unadorned fabric stripes. Traditional black rubber outsoles finalize the look, and the shoes come packaged in a flag-adorned box.

The Converse Japan Chuck Taylor “All Nations” is available now on the Converse Japan webstore, and retails for a tax-included price of ¥8,250 (approximately $77 USD).

Moving from classic to modern, Converse recently debuted its G4 basketball silhouette — a shoe originally unveiled by Draymond Green.
