HHS Spanish Classes Visit Queensborough Performing Arts Theater

Harrison High School's Spanish Classes participate in multicultural experience at Queens Theater

The Harrison High School Spanish 2 and Spanish Heritage classes went to the Queensborough Performing Arts Theater to see a unique performance, immersing themselves in the rich and diverse culture of the Hispanic people through the performing arts.

The show was an authentic, multicultural experience which included choreography, music and costumes from Hispanic nations of the Caribbean, Central and South America. The show was primarily an authentic representation of indigenous dance inspired by South American native tribes and a fusion of Spanish Colonial and Mexican traditions.

African influence was represented in the Colombian Cumbia and Cuban Salsa and Conga. The program also included the Argentine Tango and Boleadoras, Merengue from the Dominican Republic, Marinera Nortena from Peru, and the Samba from Brazil.
