Boise State has secured another commitment from an elite Orange County high school lineman.
Orange Lutheran High senior tackle Jason White (6-4, 290) recently committed to the Mountain West Conference contender, picking the Broncos over offers from five of the Pac-12 schools, Florida and Kansas State among others.
“He had a great connection with Coach (Bryan) Harsin and his staff,” Orange Lutheran coach JP Presley said of White.
“Boise State has a great track record of success within their conference and nationally, along with a solid platform for student-athletes to be successful on the field, in the classroom and in life after college.”
Boise State’s 2021 recruiting class includes Yorba Linda offensive lineman Mason Randolph (6-4, 280).
For their 2020 recruiting class, the Broncos signed offensive linemen Nathan Cardona of Yorba Linda and Kyle Juergens of St. Margaret’s and Riden Leong of Orange Coast College.
And for its 2019 class, Boise State landed Yorba Linda defensive end Michael Callahan.
Boise State’s current four-year streak of signing at least one O.C. lineman started in 2018 with Mater Dei center Kekani Gonzalez.
Gonzalez and former San Clemente standout Donte Harrington, a guard, are projected starting offensive linemen for Boise State this upcoming season.
The Broncos and the rest of the Mountain West start the season Oct. 24.
White might be Boise State’s top recruit so far in their class of 2021. He’s a physical blocker, especially on the run. He played mostly right tackle last season but moved to left tackle toward the end of the season.
He also will play some defense this season, Presley said.
