DAAD provides additional scholarships for study visits at HWR Berlin partner universities in the USA, in Hong Kong and Australia. Students and professors benefit from three granted ISAP applications.

Berlin, May 17th, 2022 - Close cooperative relationships between the Baruch College of the City University of New York, the Hong Kong Baptist University, Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, and the Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht Berlin (HWR Berlin) / Berlin School of Economics have been in place for years. HWR Berlin currently maintains a total of 195 active university partnerships around the world and is one of the most internationally oriented universities in Germany.

From October 2022, the international mobility of students and university teachers will receive additional impetus. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) responded positively to all three applications submitted by the HWR Berlin. Thus, within the framework of the funding program International Study and Training Partnerships (IASP), scholarships can be awarded for up to four-month study visits at the three named partner universities in the USA, Hong Kong and Australia, financed by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Students of the HWR Berlin are given the opportunity to complete a fully recognized part of their studies at the partner university.

Professor Dr Andreas Zaby, President of the HWR Berlin, says: "We are very pleased about the successful acquisition of funds that contribute to the further expansion of our international student and faculty mobility. This strengthens our close ties with the three renowned universities. International contacts and experience are a must in a world shaped by globalization. They are essential for mutual understanding and tolerance, for collaboration which benefits all sides and are the foundation for peace in the world. That's why we motivate our students to study abroad and promote faculty exchanges and international research collaborations."
