YPSILANTI, MI – A food delivery driver was left hanging Saturday night after a customer paid for their order with a counterfeit bill and refused to open the door again, police said.

Police were called at 7:35 p.m. Feb. 22 to an apartment in the 400 block of W. Forest Avenue for a reported fraud, according to the Ypsilanti Police Department.

An area food delivery driver told officers he was making a delivery at the apartment, handed the food over and was given what appeared to be a counterfeit bill shortly before the resident closed the door, police said.

The resident then refused to open the door, leading the driver to call police to report the incident, police said.

No arrests were reported, and the incident remains under investigation.
