King of Bahrain ratifies law, adds new article to penal code

WAM MANAMA, June 16th, 2013 (WAM)–His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, today ratified and issued Law No. 13 for this year, adding a new article No. 221 to the Penal Code promulgated by the legislative decree No. 15 of 1976.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the new article reads as follows: "Imprisonment shall be the penalty for any person who incites commitment of any of the crimes stipulated in Articles (221, 333, 357 and 358) against a member of the Public Security forces or a member of the military personnel of the Bahrain Defence Force, National Guard or National Security Agency publically, but without any consequences resulting from that (incitement)." The Law, approved previously by the Representatives and Shura Councils, will be effective a day after publishing it in the Official Gazette WAM/MN
