PHILADELPHIA, PA — Flash flooding Monday led to 100-year flooding conditions in parts of the Philadelphia region. Communities in Bucks County and Philadelphia were the hardest hit. Croydon in Lower Bucks County recorded more than 10 inches of rain in a matter of hours.

The flooding, which came after severe afternoon thunderstorms, also impacted South Jersey communities along the Delaware River. Cars on major roadways were submerged in water, and evacuations were reported.

Water rescue crews acted quickly throughout the area to deal with the escalating situation. Emergency officials in Bucks County reported that calls continued to come in through Tuesday morning.

More rain is in the forecast for Tuesday, but it is not expected to be as severe as Monday's storms.
