MT. CARMEL, Tenn. — Mount Carmel Police Chief Grady White told News 5 he will resign and take a job with the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office.
White said he is leaving because there is too much political pressure from aldermen to overturn his management and decisions. His last day on the job in Mount Carmel will be April 5, and he will join Sullivan County’s force a few days later.
White has been with Mount Carmel police for two years and was appointed chief in July after the retirement of long-serving chief Jeff Jackson.
