Since opening in Somerville this past May, Bow Market has been steadily adding vendors to its roster of restaurants, galleries, and retail shops. Just in time for the weekend, Hooked Fish Shop will open on Friday as a one-stop seafood shop with inventive, global street food.

The concept comes from Jason Tucker and Jimmy Rider, who met at the Copley Square Farmers Market a few years ago. Tucker works with local seafood purveyor Red’s Best, while Rider owns EverGreen Delivery.

“We’ve been collaborating on a number of ideas since [meeting],” Tucker said, “mostly selling Red’s Best fresh fish and Boston Smoked Fish at farmer’s markets, but also some pop-up raw bars. Jimmy is a Union Square guy, so when he heard about Bow, we started putting ideas together.”

The pair felt drawn to the incubator spirit of Bow Market, which Tucker said provided them with a space that was affordable, experimental, and accessible.

Hooked’s opening menu, which includes Red’s Best and Boston Smoked Fish products for purchase, has a street food sensibility: dishes that range from $6 to $11, plus a raw bar with $2.25 oysters, and smoked and cured fish platters that start at $27 for two. But it won’t be all shrimp salad and lox bagels — there’s a heavy international influence, too, with dishes like moqueca (Brazilian white fish soup), tuna ceviche, and salmon poke.

“Our menu takes inspiration from around the world, always highlighting the incredible fish we have,” Tucker said. “I want people to see a perfect piece of bluefin tuna in the case and be able to get a ceviche made right there.”

Tucker said that Hooked also has plans to collaborate with several other vendors filling Bow Market. A pop-up at Remnant Brewing Beer Garden is in the works, for example, and Hooked will participate in Union Square’s Fluff Festival this weekend with “Oysters Flufferfeller” topped with spinach béchamel and torched Fluff brûlée.

Hooked’s grand opening will take place on Friday from 4 to 9 p.m.

Bow Market has another opening on the horizon with Perillas, a Korean bibimbap pop-up scheduled to debut in the next few weeks. Other recent additions include Comedy Studio and its bar, Variety, as well as Hot Box, a roast beef sandwich and pizza shop that opened last weekend.
