Bahrain events week aims to boost business

MANAMA, November 16, 2014

A week-long series of events to celebrate entrepreneurship in Bahrain will get underway tomorrow (November 17), a report said.

Global Entrepeneurship Week (GEW), which runs until Saturday, will feature panels of experts giving advice to start-up businesses on how to achieve growth, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

Organised by venture capital and training firm Tenmou, the event will be inaugurated by Transportation Minister and Economic Development Board acting chief executive Kamal Ahmed and Tamkeen's chairman and acting chief executive Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al Khalifa.

'Tenmou has many arms and financing a start-up business is just one of them,' said Tenmou entrepreneurial relations representative Johara Al Khalifa.

“Our mentorship and training arm is a massive part of what we do. This event will also give attendees the opportunity to connect with one another and to connect to the select list of mentors that otherwise would be very hard to reach.

“The idea is to nurture local entrepreneurs and allow them to grow faster and more efficiently,’ she added.

During the week, mentorship sessions and workshops will be conducted by KPMG Fakhro, 4spots, Bahrain SME Society, Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Suhail Algosaibi and Unido, in partnership with Bahrain Women's Society.

'We expect those entrepreneurs that attend to leave with a larger contact base and the knowledge to grow their business,' said Al Khalifa. – TradeArabia News Service
