Man, 88, died in Stuart crash involving three-wheel motor scooter, FHP says

STUART - An 88-year-old Stuart man died Monday in a Kanner Highway crash involving a car and a three-wheeled motor scooter, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.

Paramedics took Paul Ryan to the Martin South hospital, whose staff pronounced him dead Monday afternoon.

The crash occurred just before 2:45 p.m. at Kanner and Cove Road east of Interstate 95, FHP said in its crash report.

“For unknown reasons,” the front end of a Chrysler Pacifica driven by Richard McGinnis, 34, of Port St. Lucie struck the rear of Ryan’s Yamaha scooter as both drove east on Kanner, the report said.

McGinnis sustained minor injuries in the crash and also received treatment at Martin South.
