Deadly Crash Under Investigation In Sunol: CHP

SUNOL, CA — The California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash reported in Sunol early Thursday morning. One person died following the head-on collision, which involved two vehicles. The wreck was reported in the area of Pleasanton Sunol and Koopman roads at 5:16 a.m., according to the CHP.

A CHP spokesperson said one the drivers involved drifted into oncoming traffic. The driver was pronounced dead soon after firefighters arrived. The other driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley.

The Alameda County Fire Department crews assisted with the crash. The road was closed for several hours during the investigation. No other information is available.
