Man charged with killing 2 adults, 1 boy in upstate home

NEWBURGH, N.Y. (AP) — A 30-year-old man charged with fatally shooting a couple in their 20s and a 9-year-old boy in their Hudson Valley home knew the victims, police said Monday.

Town of Newburgh police said they believe Kaliek Goode-Ford was the lone shooter in the triple homicide on Sunday morning about 70 miles (110 kilometers) north of New York City. Jimmy Crisantos, 27, and Shatavia Crisantos, 26, were killed along with 9-year-old Giovanni Tambino, a son of Shatavia Crisantos from a previous relationship.

An unidentified 3-year-old was in critical but stable condition with gunshot wounds.

Goode-Ford had a relationship with the victims, but investigators are still trying determine a clear motive, police said. Officials have previously said it was a targeted shooting.

The Newburgh resident was charged with three counts of second-degree murder, one count of second-degree attempted murder and other charges.

The Times Herald-Record reported that Goode-Ford was arraigned Monday and sent to county jail without bail.

It could not immediately be determined if he had a lawyer to speak for him.
