Dressing Up as the Main Characters From It For Halloween Is Surprisingly Easy

The It reboot dropped at the perfect time last year. Not only did it get everyone in the mood for Halloween right as Fall began, but the horror flick is also a great source of inspiration for group costumes. What could be better than you and your friends heading out on the town dressed as the young members of the Losers Club (and one brave soul as Pennywise)?

With the exception of the silver clown suit someone might have to rustle up, creating similar outfits to the core seven characters is actually a cinch. Keep the horror of It alive in 2018 by completing a few step-by-step DIYs for each look ahead!

  • What to wear: A red wig (either with Bev's long ponytail, or her cropped cut from later on), a floral sundress, a brown belt around your waist, and lace-up boots. If a dress isn't your style, opt for jeans cut off at the knee with a brown belt, a striped tank-top, and a necklace with a house key hanging off of it.

  • What to wear: A brunette wig, a baggy t-shirt with some sort of graphic on it (preferably a picture of New Kids on the Block), baggy jeans or cargo shorts, and sneakers. Feel free to make it look like you have a busted lip or cut-up chin, and carry around a Walkman or stack of library books.

  • What to wear: A plain white t-shirt or henley (make sure to smear some dirt on it) with a pair of light jeans. You probably shouldn't carry around a sack of raw meat, but you can if you're into that sort of thing!

  • What to wear: The key to Pennywise's outfit is keeping things relatively monochromatic (in this case, either silver or white). Pair silver or white leggings with a ruffled, long-sleeved shirt or dress (you can always spray paint it silver), and glue three red pom-poms down the front. Wear white, black, or red boots, and glue a red pom-pom to the toe of each. Finish it off with a pair of white or silver gloves, white face paint, a red wig, and red lipstick that you draw in two lines all the way up through your eyebrows. Carry a red balloon!
