Fake News Buster: Vaccine registration on WhatsApp? Not true

THE CLAIMS
An image has been going viral on social media, claiming that citizens can get vaccinated by registering on WhatsApp. The image has a phone number that is supposed to be linked to the government’s CoWin portal and says that upto four slots can be booked at one time.

SO, WHAT’S THE TRUTH?
The picture is unverified and untrue. Press Information Bureau (PIB) investigated the claim and tweeted, saying that registration can only be done on the CoWin website or the Aarogya Setu app. Citizens, beware of any other sources that claim to take registrations for the jab.
