Oversees family's electronics and appliances maker, Videocon, which has been hit by a slowdown in demand for consumer durables. In January he sold a third of Videocon d2h, a direct-to-home TV service, to U.S.-based Silver Eagle Acquisition Corp., then went on to list it on the Nasdaq in April, scrapping plans for an Indian IPO. His lossmaking Videocon Telecom, which operates in northern and central India, is planning a 4G rollout. Videocon has recently started making smartphones.
